Central Park Public Art Strategy

Turpin+Crawford Studio developed the precinct-wide Public Art Strategy for Central Park, the major urban renewal of the Tooths Brewery site in Chippendale, Sydney.

The strategy drew upon the unique 170-year history of the precinct as a brewery; the defining historical and contemporary influence of environmental water and the major sustainability initiatives of the development. The strategy proposed a suite of permanent and temporary art projects.

Turpin+Crawford Studio were then commissioned to develop a major permanent public artwork, Halo, to activate the public domain and develop the temporary construction period, public art project Artists In Residence (AIR) in collaboration with curator Anne Loxley.
