Well

Well is sited in the courtyard of the Intensive Care unit at the New Children’s Hospital in Westmead, Sydney. A contemplative pool of water flows in a series of delicate standing waves inwards towards a central well.

The double-sided perforated brass screen provides much needed privacy for parents and nurses who share the use of the courtyard. The screen is lit internally at night and creates a moire effect as the viewer moves in relation to the wave-like pattern of its perforations.
